ISTANBUL —Medicatessen officially launched today as Turkey's first health tourism agencybuilt entirely around medical credibility rather than marketing reach — a modelits founders say is long overdue in a sector that has grown fast but trustedslowly.

Turkey has becomeone of the world's top five destinations for medical tourists, attractinghundreds of thousands of patients annually for procedures ranging from hairtransplants and dental implants to complex oncological second opinions andadvanced fertility treatments. Yet the industry's explosive growth has alsoproduced a shadow side: unqualified operators, opaque pricing, and qualityinconsistency that has left many patients with poor outcomes and diminishedtrust.

Medicatessen wasfounded to address this gap directly. The agency selects no more than two tothree doctors or clinics per specialty per city — a portfolio of fifty toeighty providers across Turkey's major medical centers — using a rigorousmulti-factor evaluation model assessing clinical outcomes, published research,peer citations, innovation capacity, and professional ethics.

"The bestdoctors in this country do not always have the biggest Instagram pages. Many ofthem have never needed to advertise — their results speak for themselves,"said Medicatessen's founder. "Our job is to find those doctors and create astructure where international patients can trust them."

From its Istanbulheadquarters, Medicatessen will also operate a network of European officesproviding in-person consultations, pre-treatment digital scans, and fullyitemized treatment estimates. The company has positioned its physical officesas a deliberate trust signal in a sector that has relied almost exclusively ondigital outreach.
